At Adswood Primary School our school vision and values is for pupils’ to show respect, kindness, honest, compassion, empathy and a caring attitude to each other in an environment which enables to enjoy, believe and achieve.

From EYFS –Year 6 a PSHCE Matrix is followed which covers age appropriate topics under the following key areas:
· British Values-Rule of Law, Democracy, Individual Liberty, Mutual Respect and Tolerance and Diversity.
· RSE-Relationship and Sexual Education
· DATE-Drug, Alcohol and Tobacco Education
· Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health
· Anti-Bullying
· E Safety

As well as weekly P.S.H.C.E lessons, pupils work within emotionally intelligent environments where daily ‘check-ins’ take place, peer massage and meditation/relaxation allowing pupils to talk about their feelings. All of this ensures that our pupils are listened to, feel valued and feel happy and safe here at Adswood Primary.

We also have whole school activities which embrace the ethos of our school:
· Best of British Week
· Anti-Bullying Week
· Aspirations Week
· One World Week

Pupils are also given the responsibility of delivering the school’s values in roles such as Restorative Captains, Playleaders and School Council.

We also participate in fund raising events, raising money for local charities, Save the Children, Children in Need to name but a few and work closely with external agencies e.g. Bible Encounters, Road Safety, Stockport Homes, Fire and Police service and the Youth Offending Team.

Our P.S.H.C.E curriculum is pupil-led and provides every pupil with the opportunity to become respectful, responsible citizens.

The school follows Stockport’s Scheme of work for PSHE. Please find below detailed information about the themes taught to different year groups through the year.
