This page explores life beyond the school gates and celebrates some of the incredible people working hard to support the Adswood Community.

Adeel- Local Shop Owner Is Praised For His Generosity

Adeel Ahmed was praised by the local community of Adswood today. In lockdown Adeel gave away lots of food to local families. He has owned Adswood News for 13 years and has been an important member of the local area. Adeel is very hardworking and has three young children who all attend Adswood Primary School. Adam, Adeel’s 10 year old son says ‘My dad is nice to people who come in the the shop and i’m very proud of what he does’

Jeff- As Fresh As They Come
The Head boy, Head girl and Headteacher at Adswood Primary School were extremely proud to award Jeff with a ‘Community Award’ today, along with letters of praise and thanks from the children. Jeff, who runs a charity called ‘Fresh Food’, has supported our families throughout the lockdown, providing food provisions by the van full. Just days after the government announced they would not be extending the Free School Meals provision over half term, Jeff turns up again, to make sure no child goes hungry in these testing times. Congratulations on your award Jeff, it is well and truly deserved.

Stockport Together- Local Legends
This dedicated team of volunteers have been working tirelessly to provide food parcels and hot meals free of charge for the Adswood Community. They are our newest ‘Adswood Community Champions’ and we couldn’t be more proud to award them these certificates (especially if it means they save me a portion of that lasagne – delicious!)
