DAVID SEDDON
I am the governor who keeps an eye on SEND and English across the school.
I’m something of an expert on education in Stockport, having experienced a lot of it. I attended Banks Lane Primary and Stockport Grammar Schools, then won a scholarship to read English at Oxford. In 1970s I taught at Bramhall High School and in 1980s I was headteacher at Taxal Lodge, Stockport’s residential special school. I ended my career as Director of Education for the Together Trust in Cheadle.
And now - the high point of my Stockport educational journey - I’ve been a co-opted governor at Adswood since 2016.
