Holocaust Education Visit
We were honoured to welcome Martin Hyman from the Northern Holocaust Education Group to speak with our Year 6 classes. Martin shared his family’s powerful and deeply moving story from the Second World War — including how his mother was accepted onto the Kindertransport from Austria to England, while his grandparents, tragically, were unable to escape and were later sent to concentration camps across Germany.
Hearing first-hand accounts like Martin’s is an incredibly important part of our pupils’ learning. It helps them to understand the human stories behind history, to reflect on the impact of prejudice and intolerance, and to appreciate the importance of compassion, courage, and remembrance.
We are extremely grateful to Martin for taking the time to visit and for sharing his family’s experiences with such honesty and care. His talk will leave a lasting impression on our pupils.
