Travel and Transport: Year 2 Runway Tour

Lesson: Geography

As part of our topic on transport, Year 2 took off on an educational trip to Manchester Airport's Runway Visitor Park.

The children took part in a fantastic interactive tour inside an aeroplane learning about the fundamental parts of a plane, from the wings to the engines. They also explored the many jobs required to run a major airport through hands on role-play and a visit to the flight deck.

To top it all off, we observed real-world forces in action as we watched spectacular live take-offs and landings from the airfield viewing banks!
