Year 6 - NAVY STEM Workshop

Lesson: Science

On Monday 13th November, Year 6 Reds and Blues welcomed the Royal Navy STEM team to Adswood.

The Navy STEM Team delivered three workshops for the children to take part in.

The first being a virtual tour around a Navy submarine - the children were able to look at the key functions of a submarine and also began to understand the use of pneumatics in order to transport heavy machinery and weapons.

The next workshop was a Coding/Robotics workshop where the children used Ipads to give instructions to their 'Sphero' balls.

The final workshop was an electronics activity - where the children were able to bridge back to their work on circuits from Autumn 1 and create a variety of complete ciruits using a combination of different components.
